The Inquiring Mindset: Using Questions for Great Results in Teaching and Learning

The Inquiry Institute invites you to a high-impact one-day workshop:

The Inquiring Mindset:
Using Questions for Great Results in Teaching and Learning

April 16 (Sat); Princeton, NJ

Marilee Adams, Ph.D., MSW

Author of Change Your Questions, Change Your Life
Amazon #1 Bestseller in Learning in Organizations and Business

Learning to utilize the Inquiring Mindset is an important strategy for educators in two ways. They can become more skillful at helping students have “light bulb” moments, get better results, and become life-long learners. They can also become more successful and satisfied with their own experience of teaching. The Inquiring Mindset is grounded in the principles and tools of Question Thinking™. These provide a framework for empowering students with the critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills they’ll need to be successful in the 21st century—both in school and in life.

Based on 25 years of research and practice, this workshop is dynamic, experiential, and very practical. Participants will learn user-friendly tools for cultivating the Inquiring Mindset—and which can be put to use right away. Tools, methods, practices, and skills covered in the workshop include:

  • Learner and Judger Mindset Model™, including the tools of the Choice Map™ and Switching questions
  • Practices for cultivating the Inquiring Mindset
  • Q-Storming®, a tool (akin to advanced brainstorming) that often produces breakthroughs in thinking, behavior, possibilities, and achievement—and that can be powerfully and flexibly used in the classroom
  • Question Thinking™ (QT): question-based methods for thinking critically, creatively, and collaboratively
