What it is

The Chief Question Officer® (CQO) Certificate Program empowers change agents in learning, applying and utilizing the Q-Work™ Approach, Tools and Practices for coaching, facilitating, and consulting. Change agents include leaders, managers, coaches, and HR and learning professionals as well as those with responsibilities for operational excellence and quality.

What you get

The CQO Program enables participants to become “subject matter experts” and consultants (internal and external) in applying the Q-Work Approach, Tools and Practices in facilitating change solutions effectively and strategically. This system embodies inquiry skills, tools, models, and practices that optimize engagement, productivity, communication, collaboration, innovation and results for individuals, teams, and organizations.

The Q-Work™ Approach

Based on the work from Change Your Questions, Change Your Life and bestselling author Marilee Adams, Ph.D., the      Q-Work™ Approach recognizes that questions come first, then answers. Every tool, practice, application, and aspect of the approach is based on this recognition. Asking constructive, quality questions of oneself and others brings out the best thinking, collaboration, action, and results.

How it works:

The Chief Question Officer Program – is a unique 5-month program that begins with  8 – 90 minute sessions as the Q-Work™ Foundation and Practice and 4- 3 hour sessions to begin the CQO training. In the 90 minute sessions, you get the Q-Work material “in your bones” as a participant. The CQO training focus on how to use this material to empower facilitating and consulting.  14 webinars (Learner Labs) follow the virtual sessions along with a practical Choice Map presentation. At the completion of the CQO program you can apply to be authorized to present the Q-Work™ Foundation (either as a one-day workshop or separate modules) and then license the Q-Work™Approach Tools and Practices (and associated materials) to facilitate in workplaces.

Chief Question Officer Carmella GranadoSenior Director of Organizational Effectiveness, Flextronics – has this to say about CQO:

“We’ve used Q-Work™ Approach so successfully in our work with teams that it has led to a radical transformation in how people approach and resolve problems. It also made an immediate and sustained change in their behavior. In an organizational culture, the more people can be taught these processes, the greater positive impact it can have on productivity and the bottom line.”

Carmella’s experience with the QT work at Flextronics is featured in the July, 2012 Wharton at Work Newsletter.
