Chief Question Officer Program

Chief Question Officer Certificate Program

What it is

The Chief Question Officer® (CQO) Certificate Program empowers change agents in applying the Question Thinking™ (QT) Method of Tools and Practices in masterful, innovative, and engaging ways for organizational and business results. Change agents include leaders, managers, coaches, and HR and learning professionals as well as those with responsibilities for operational excellence and quality.

What you get

The CQO Program enables participants to become “subject matter experts” and consultants (internal and external) in applying the QT System of Tools and Practices in facilitating change solutions. This system embodies inquiry skills, tools, and practices that optimize engagement, productivity, communication, collaboration, innovation and results for individuals, teams, and organizations.

How it works

The Chief Question Officer Program — Level 1 is a unique 4-month program that begins with a four-and-a-half-day workshop. In the first two days, you get the QT material “in your bones.” The second two and a half days focus on how to use this material to empower facilitating and consulting with others. Fourteen telelabs follow the workshop along with a practical, personal learning project. You will develop a deeper facility with the QT concepts, tools, practices and skills, allowing for qualification to present Change Your Questions, Change Your Results Basics (either as a one-day workshop or separate modules) at the completion of the CQO-Level One program. Successful completion also includes eligibility to license the Question Thinking System™ of Tools and Practices (and associated materials) to facilitate in workplaces.

Chief Question Officer Carmella GranadoSenior Director of Organizational Effectiveness, Flextronics – has this to say about CQO:

“We’ve used Question Thinking so successfully in our work with teams that it has led to a radical transformation in how people approach and resolve problems. It also made an immediate and sustained change in their behavior. In an organizational culture, the more people can be taught these processes, the greater positive impact it can have on productivity and the bottom line.”

Carmella’s experience with the QT work at Flextronics is featured in the July, 2012 Wharton at Work Newsletter.

In the current Chief Question Officer training Camilla Lopez, principal, and Kevin Lohela, academic dean, have received a grant to use QUESTION THINKING™ to create an Inquiring Culture at their Crown Heights elementary school. Click for more information about their work.
